During the April 8, 2010 Animal Control and Welfare Commission (AWC) meeting, Rebecca Katz, Interim Director of San Francisco’s Animal Care and Control (ACC), stated, “I have consistently offered to have critics see what we do, speak with people involved with our daily routines, and to suggest alternatives….To date, the only people who have availed themselves of the offer have been some of the commissioners sitting here…”

Flying Chihuahuas! (Jan '10)
California has been inundated with Chihuahuas! The solution? Airlift them to New York where there is a demand for small dogs. San Francisco's Animal Care and Control with Virgin America Airlines organized a transfer of several Chihuahuas to New York's ASPCA to solve both coast's problem.
